Nate Pestka, a senior at Shadow Mountain High, prevailed in the Division 3 boys 3,200-meter final, along with anchoring the 4x800-meter relay to the title at the Arizona Interscholastic Association State Championships at Mesa Community College. Pestka clocked 9:23.49 in the 3,200 to improve from fifth place last season and teamed with Jack Rea, Kannon Boloz and Ryan Brass to triumph in the 4x800 relay in 7:54.01, including a 1:55.8 anchor split, to ascend from a fourth-place finish last year.
